The Big Stirling Tree Plant!
The Green & Blue Space is partnering up with Be Connected, the Forth Climate Forest and TCV for 'The Big Stirling Tree Plant' on Wed 15 and Thurs 16 April to plant 700 native trees on campus and we need your help!
The Forth Climate Forest (FCF), based at the University of Stirling, is the largest tree-planting initiative in the Forth Valley Area. FCF is working with land managers, communities and partner organisations to plant 16 million trees by 2033.
To contribute to this target, volunteers are needed to plant 700 native trees within the University grounds on Spittal Hill. This will increase woodland cover on the University campus and enhance existing woodlands on Spittal Hill and nearby Abbey Craig.
Tree planting will take place from 10.30AM-2PM on Wed 15 and Thurs 16 April; conservation volunteers will lead these events, providing tools and gloves for all helpers.
If you would like to take part then register your interest and pop along for all or part of each day. This will take place on Spittal Hill so head towards South car park and then through the gate at the far end and follow the signs to meet us there. Link to event here
Please note, volunteers will need to dress appropriately, with sturdy footwear, and waterproof clothing if needed. There will be a group meeting in the Atrium initially at 10AM on both dates to walk up to Spittal Hill together if you'd like to join at this time. See you there!
