5K Fundraising Run for Stirling and District Women’s Aid
The University of Stirling Judo Club is organising a 5K fundraising run around the University loch to raise money and awareness for Stirling and District Women’s Aid, a charity that supports women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
This cause is particularly meaningful to our club, as one of our members has personally experienced the impact of domestic abuse and the life-changing support that Women’s Aid can provide. Their experience has highlighted the importance of having access to a safe space, reliable advice and guidance during some of life’s most difficult circumstances. As a club, we want to use this fundraiser to give back to an organisation that provides such vital support and help ensure that others can access the same services when they need them.
In recognition of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, we are proud to organise this event to raise awareness, support survivors and encourage our university community to come together behind an important cause.
The run will take place on Wednesday 4 November, starting at 11 am, around the University of Stirling loch. Everyone is welcome to join us, whether you are a student, member of staff or part of the wider university community. You do not need to be a member of the Judo Club to take part.
Our aim is to raise both money and awareness for Stirling and District Women’s Aid. Every donation, share and person who takes part will help contribute towards the vital services that make a real difference to the lives of people affected by domestic abuse.
As a club, we hope to bring the university community together to stand alongside survivors, raise awareness and help ensure that people affected by domestic abuse can access the support, safety and guidance they deserve.
Thank you for your support and for helping us make a difference.
